Does this sound like you in your relationships?
- You’ve been fighting back tears and trying hard to keep your shit together.
- You haven’t been sleeping well and you’re tired and snippy AF, especially with your partner.
- You avoid certain people or situations, because it makes you so upset that your body shakes.
- You tend to watch everyone’s move, because you don’t want to be surprised if something goes down.
- You get startled easily, and it takes a few moments to catch your breath and your heart to stop racing.
- When you’re triggered, you puff up or shutdown. Your mind feels like “WTF just happened???"
You want to be a healthy person who creates healthy relationships.
Deep down you dream of a partnership that is loving, respectful and nurturing. It’s your safe place to land where you can be real AF and held just as your are.
And you also want to become a BETTER VERSION of yourself. One that doesn’t get so easily irritated, and who is in-control of her emotions. A woman who has satisfying relationships that are drama-free.
Hello.
I’m Sarah (pronounced SAAH-dah). I’m a therapist and abuse survivor who helps women recover from fucked up childhoods. I was a high school drop-out and teen mom trapped in an abusive relationship. And I just didn’t know what a healthy relationship looked like if it was standing right in front of me. Nor did I know how to be in one when I did find a stable one. I was like a feral cat! Over the years, I found a way to break the cycle and I have dedicated my life to helping women who have been scarred in childhood, have a chance at having healthy, adult relationships.

Just because you had a shitty childhood doesn't mean you have to relive your past.
I believe our childhood experience can have a deep impact on how our nervous system responds to close relationships in adulthood. If we have experienced any kind of traumatic events that have gone undigested, our brains become hard-wired to be constantly on alert when there is no threat. We play a vicious cycle out with our partners when we’re triggered, attacking them, pushing them away, or just playing dead. But life doesn’t have to be this way. There’s another way.
The Healing Journey
Whether you’re dipping your toes into the river of therapy for the first time or have worked with a therapist before, I hold space for those of you on the healing journey who are ready to unpack the giant backpack of rocks you’ve been carrying from relationship-to-relationship. Through therapy, I help you to find relief from low self-esteem, self-doubt, and negative beliefs that keep sabotaging your relationships.
First, we hike into all the caves of your past relationships, (including your parents) and shine a light into each one to help bring awareness to your unconscious patterns. I use a mixture of talk therapy and expressive arts therapies to help you paint a picture with metaphors and images so you can see what is really beneath the surface. And you get to decide what is helpful and not helpful.
Then I assist you in challenging the unhealthy shit that you have inherited, so you can design the kind of relationships you want, on your terms. To make this transformation, I use EMDR therapy to help rewire your brain by reprocessing what has you stuck. This then jumpstarts your brain to uninstall the negative programming, and allows room to install healthier updates—resulting in more satisfying, low-drama relationships.
